The problem is that the same people you let down and abandoned were going through their own very serious challenges. Your abandonment just added more weight to the load they were already carrying on their shoulders.

Where I noticed you were missing was on Twitter.

I must say I'm now more curious than ever about what went on with you. With this post you tantalized us by almost revealing it and then holding back at the last second. *pouts*

I'm just glad that you're "back" and have moved on after gaining something from the experience. A wise person told me at the beginning of my challenging years (yes, years plural) two important things.

One is that while we're in the throes of a crisis is not the time to try to make sense of the whys and wherefores. The other is that we are on a path that is leading a particular direction. Along that way we encounter adversity, regardless of where we are spiritually. We have two choices in these situations.

We can continue as before and when we come through the experience we will be unchanged, or we can ASK that, since we have to go through this anyway, might it be for a spiritual gain, to further the Kingdom, to advance our faith, to build up the Body of Christ, to be transformed more rapidly for the duration of the adversity, to be a living testimony with how we LIVE THROUGH THIS EXPERIENCE speaking louder than words, and so on.

I hope the latter is the case with you. Nothing happens by accident in the spiritual realm.

Hey Alex thanks for noticing my lack of posting. I hope you found some help today with your challenges. Although it seems like you're on the right track. Business partners have a way of prodding us at times to make us more productive and to sometimes “get over ourselves.”

Thanks Jeff! I needed that. That's what I meant by saying the people I've met online have been a tremendous help in getting past my problems.

Great tip too about our self-speak. We can talk ourselves into and out of anything. As well as creating who we are by our own thoughts.

Thanks you for sharing this Tim. I'm glad you decided to keep going; I noticed when you were not publishing even though I've been spending 12 hours per day in front of my computer and facing pretty serious challenges myself.

I have found considerable strength from my business partner - and we have enough ideas and plans to keep us going way into the future. And if you are thinking of how much fun you are going to have on completion of a project you don't spend much time on your worries.

One extra point I would like to make is that we should pay close attention to our self-speak.

Is it helping or hurting us? What we say can be what we become.

Tim, fantastic advice! I recently wen through a “desert” season and it was not fun. I even thought of quitting and going back to work in Corporate America. One thing that helped me is realizing that “whom He calls, He equips.” I began to own my purpose again and reaffirm my belief in my ability . That belief led me to act like I really believed I could, should, and would do it. Reading this post has helped me to continue moving forward. Thank you so much for sharing your own experience and helping all of us to learn and grow from it.
