I definitely agree with both Garen and Mayank.
Having the passion for niche makes it far easier to be successful – it allows you to be empathetic towards the market you are targeting and is easier to put yourself into their shoes.
And having a relationship between yourself and your visitors ensures that they will continue to support you and continue to return. This is where constantly adding to your content applies – it is necessary to give your visitors a reason to return.

No problem. I have been looking around the internet for ways of promoting using web 2.0 which I have found a lot of useful information out there. I have conquered the article writing and blogging world, at least i think. I will be looking in at building opt-ins too.

Building an opt-in list is really useful for affliates. It makes sure that you can build a long term relationship with visitors to your site. Who will otherwise may or may not buy the affiliate product and then go away for good.

I fully agree that you must have some passion for your niche. It makes it so much easier to actually make money in your niche. Your research is the most important part too. You need to look on web 2.0 sites and find out what people are asking. You have got to put yourself in the customer's shoes.
